Public transportation timetable
We have developed a new design for public transportation timetable.
The old timetables were, to put it mildly, difficult to use because of the abundance of numbers. In order to figure out at what interval a particular route was running, you had to solve puzzles. As a result, passengers rarely used them.
We revised our approach to the design of timetables. We took the problems into account and designed them in accordance with the city’s design code.
We made the information on the timetable as convenient as possible for passengers.

We left only the important information and reworked it so that it was compact and easy to read. Instead of complex intervals and tables, we left only two numbers — weekday and weekend intervals for each route.
The key elements in the timetable — the name of the stop, route numbers and mode of transportation — are highlighted. Each route has its final stops.
Color coding has been introduced so that it is clearly visible which transport runs through the stop and which routes belong to which type of transport.
The background of the schedule was made black to keep the same style as the pedestrian wayfinding.
The black background increases readability. This is especially important for the Urals, where winter lasts from November to March, with snow, rain and poor visibility.
Even during a snowstorm, the information on the signs can be well understood.
In addition, such timetables are excellent friends with timetables on interactive screens.
In the future, we plan to develop a detailed timetable, which will include all traffic intervals and other information. We will develop it after the transport reform, when transportation will run on time and on schedule.
