"Living Walls: Albany is  a project designed to raise awareness about the use of public space. It is about exploring options that a smaller city like ours has and giving the people here a chance to interact with public space as they never have before. Through a series of lectures, performances, and the involvement of some of the world's great mural artists, we are looking to provide an education into public art. The Living Walls project is intent on creating an open dialogue between the people and city." -http://livingwallsalbany.com."

At first, Living Walls started out as any freelance assignment for Metroland. I planned on taking just a day to complete it by creating portraits with the artists for that week's cover story. Instead, it consumed my week. I spent as much time with each artist as I could, I watched them work, inhaled the fumes and witnessed the passion. I became mesmerized by the process and the talent. I'm so lucky to have been a part of their moments. I hope these images continue to raise awareness of art in the public space.
