Universal cabinets on Interblock dd, especially automatic dice games offered through their platform types, have been performing "extremely well" in the Macau and Philippine gaming markets this year. That's according to Michael Hu, president of electronic table gaming (ETG) vendors in the Asia-Pacific region, in an interview with GGRAcia at the 2023 MGS Entertainment Show, a trade show and conference for the Macau-based casino industry.

"For Macau, it's better and for the Philippines, it's better," Hu said, referring to the popularity of interblock standalone dice games supported by Universal Cabinet.

He added, "These two [ice games] are performing very well, and they have been some of the best performing machines in Venice [Macao] for the past six months," referring to Sands China Ltd, Macau's flagship resort in the city's Kotai region.

Hu says the Universal platform allows players to set the speed of their game sessions and have "control" over the game. "It's a mechanical device. There are no video-generated games," he said.

Slovenia-based Interblock told GGRAsia that demand for ETG is growing in the Asia-Pacific region and is "doing pretty well" with market share in the region. "In Vietnam, we have 95% market share," he added, "in Cambodia and the Philippines, we have about 70% market share."

ETG is a "still growing" sector in Asia-Pacific and is already a "standard" product category in casinos and some slot clubs in the region, especially in terms of the so-called stadium configuration, which has a lot of machines, Hu observed. Depending on the market, the Interblock executive said it could include "live baccarat play" via ETG and "also could include automatic roulette and sebo games with about 15 to 200 stations connected together."

He said, "ETG can increase seat occupancy [for casino games] because it can play multiple games per seat. For Interblock, you can play up to 18 games per seat."
