      Welcome to the Dairy Community!
You must have eaten or drank Dairy products at home, but have you ever thought what happens behind the scenes????
The dairy community is a very vast community with a very well-equiped  set-up with thousands of farm animals on work everyday.
Last year India produced approximately 135 million tonnes of milk with its availibilty ranging from place to place.
My focus was the Nandini Milk Parlour at dairy cross.
Its headed by Mr.Sadashiv who is working their for the last 4 years. He's from Udupi in Karnataka.
The milk parlour can be located with the help of the Map.
Every morning the van comes there to deliver the products.
You can find every dairy product their ranging from chocolates and sweets to milk and the famous lassi.
Lassi sells the most (especially during summers) as you can make out from the dustbin overloaded from the empty lassi packets.
The other reason being that the Bus Stop is just near by and so every one who passes by has a lassi to quench his thirst. Now who would'nt love to have something cool and refeshing after a tiring journey in the sun?
Also people who work in the Railway department which has its office near-by, enjoy a special service of monthly passes due to which they don't have to worry about not having change.
Something worth observing was that he was selling Tea which usually you dont find in the dairies. On further inquiry, he said that everyday some of the milk packets are leaking and so he uses that milk by preparing Tea out of it and then selling it. What an idea Sir ji!!!!
Also full attention is paid to the entertainment aspect as you can find speakers located inside the shop. Basically its a strategy to attract crowd.
At last my ethnographic strategy was to convince the shopkeeper that this project would bring publicity to him amd by bonding with him over a pack of chocolate milkshake.
My methodology used was simply chatting, pictures and a lot of observations.
At last I would like to conclude by saying that after this project I realised that how a community serves to the needs of so many other communities...and thus its true that Food is the link between different communities!!!
I took help from google.com and wikipedia.com
Ok 1..2...3...Back to the Present!!
