Lead Background Design

I had the great opportunity to create the backgrounds for the trailer and season 1 (52 x 11') of this animated series, wich was produced by 4.21 Productions for Canal+ Kids

Kididoc is a pre-school educational series in 2D animation which tells the adventures of Pomme and Fix, two curious children who have become great travelers thanks to their friend Kidi who has the power to transport them from their attic to the Kidiworld, a world in paper where all the questions are answered.

The series is an adaptation of the pop-up books of the same name from Nathan Editions and includes several types of backgrounds, one of theme being the Kidiworld, which is mostly made in photobashing from multiple sources of pictures, drawings and textures enhanced with paint over.

Hiking Trail - France

The challenge was to find new techniques and designs to transcribe that paper vibe into the backgrounds, the characters and the props and to make them functional for each scene.

As each episode deals with a new theme ranging from the infinitely small to the infinitely large, it was also important to build our images based on the specific architecture, environment, culture and design of each location in order to maintain a certain authenticity as well as keeping a great variety of atmospheres in accordance with the storytelling.
