Scheherazade, contemporary princesses

Scheherazade, Contemporary Princesses
I undertook this project as part of my semiotics course, where I had to write and graphically design two volumes—one containing my thesis and the other with the appendices.

The thesis focuses on the portrayal of oriental women in Vogue Arabia. The entire edition aims to convey a sense of evanescence, magic, and myth, aligning with the content and established mythologies of the edition. To reinforce the idea of multiple images of oriental women overlaying in the magazine, certain pages such as the chapter pages or the table of contents are printed in silver foil transfer on tracing paper.

In a second time, I also organized a fictive exhibition featuring oriental female artists who deconstruct the prevalent myths surrounding oriental women. Ideally, the exhibition would take place at the Louvre Abu Dhabi. I also created the visual identity of the exhibition.
