This is a model of an Owston's palm civet, an endangered animal native to Vietnam, Laos and southern China. It is one of many species of civet around the world. The reason for using this creature is because I have learned about it recently, and wanted to represent an animal that the average audience is unaware of.

My modeled civet wears a harness with a backpack, a saddle, and other accessories. The civet has 10,564 triangles (body, eyes, teeth, and tongue), and 47,185 triangles with the harness and gear. It bolsters a saddle over its scruff for a small passenger, like a shrew.

This project was a study of procedural textures, rigging, and particle hair systems. It still has imperfections, mainly the fur due to Blender's hair particle system coding.
