Getting Perspective
This week we were challenged to capture three images, showcasing different perspectives.
Image 1:
This image demonstrates texture gradient. The coffee beans closest to the camera are clear and detailed as the ones further away lose this detailing and become more blurred.
Image 2:
This image shows 2 light-posts, seemingly different in height and size - when in reality, they are the same size. This demonstrates relative height. I took the image from the top of a staircase, shooting downwards to create this perspective.
Image 3:
This image is an example of relative size. The ice cream cone in the foreground appears much larger than my subject, who is standing about 8 feet away. This perspective creates the illusion that the subject is smaller despite our brain knowing that a person is bigger than an ice cream cone (though this was quite a large one - and delicious).
Self-reflection: We see the world in 3D, typically at eye-level. It was interesting to see the impact different perspectives had on a 2D image by altering spatial relationships between objects. As a photographer, making subtle changes in our viewpoint - or perspective - of a scene or subject can significantly impact the outcome of the image.

Thanks for being here ♡
