Marcello's is a new restaurant that has opened in Douglas, Cork city.
Doing the research in to the Douglas area showed that Douglas is mostly populated by upper class people. Knowing that such people are used to better things in life, I knew I had to design something that is elegant yet friendly. From my own experience, people in Douglas are very nice and friendly, so I didn't want the logo to be too snobbish
The design interior of Marcello's is a Rustic style, and I thought combining something rough and full of texture like Rustic style restaurant with something elegant, could produce nice results.
The design was well received...
... But, after numerous email swaps, client convinced me to use the font he likes, and to use a chef's hat on a capital letter as a logo.
