It had been a while since I watched a Greek series. "Psyhokores" won me over.
It's about four young sisters being caught up in a twisted Greek tradition of the 1950s. At the time, numerous poor, underage girls were adopted by prominent families as psychokores (foster daughters) to be employed as live-in servants in what was a peculiar condition of modern-day slavery.
Given the story, I found quite matching the French note in the background, "notre pari, l'émancipation," as, for women, "emancipation seems to be the real bet" quite timelessly.
Here is a pastel and charcoal drawing of Marika, one of the main characters.
Thanks for watching! :)
