Pikeville-Pike County, KY Visitors Guide Cover

Here is the most recent cover design for the Pikeville-Pike County Visitors Guide. I was tasked with creating a simple design that was very loosely based on a classic design that the CVB used many years ago (in the 80s I think).

This design uses a series of AI generated watercolor images featuring Loretta Lynn, and elements reminiscent of the Hatfield McCoy Feud, two of our area's biggest tourist offerings. Visitors can tour Loretta Lynn's childhood home, and historic sites significant to the Hatfields and McCoys feud.

The Pikeville Flation building is presented in the background, the new location of our Welcome Center. The mountains were in part generated separately from the other elements of the image, so this was all assembled together into a cohesive layout.

Note that I did not create the logo, but we used 99designs to do the logo. This is because the board wanted several logos to choose from, and I was tasked with other projects that limited my availability. The logo was created well before the cover.

I wrote and created the graphics and layout for the entire Visitors Guide, which can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/xjlf12n5s93eq1mzrlbcb/Pike-County-Visitors-Guide-Spring-2024-compressed_1.pdf?rlkey=fpq8d5y58slx03mzeprzfjaqu&dl=0
