A Scientific Book Adaptation

This is a graphic novel adaptation of the famous book Against the Grain: A Deep History of the Earliest States by J. C. Scott. The book was adapted by Jean-Pierre Pecau and was looking to be published in a collaboration by Editions Delcourt and Editions La Decouverte. Sadly it never came to fruition due to difficulties of procuring the rights.

For this project I was asked to explore a more fluid and cartnooney style of drawing which was met with great enthusiasm by the Editor and Writer.
