For this assignment, I immersed myself in the history of design. The task consisted of designing a pepper and salt mill with simple shapes. The mills should match, but differ in some slight design details.
There is no stronger relationship than the relationship between a parent and a child. Their unconditional love consists of togetherness, learning to let go and coming back together, taking care of each other. For the design of my salt and pepper mill I was inspired by this special band.
The salt mill is slightly smaller than the pepper mill, which makes the two perfectly fit together. In spite of their variety, pepper and salt could also be a family. Their inseparable link is evident at many tables around the world. Separately, they are tough, but together they are perfectly balanced. That balance I have tried to create in my design.
