Māras acs [the eye of Māra]
I observe spiritual hunger, famine even, in today’s late capitalist digital era. The gap between virtual and atomic human deepens, and the fusion with both versions blurs the screen-world boundary. I argue the opposite—this gap is a source of ubiquitous intra- and inter-personal pain; We are not fusing with our online alter-egos, we starve for humanness. Navigating multiple realities with one body and mind is hard. I feel like a homeless tramp, reality-chasing from one station to another, stuck in waiting rooms, in corridors, my reflection distorted self-portraits of all my past and present identities.
