Cape Rock was commissioned by Kinepolis (an international cinema theaters chain based in Belgium) to create three different pre-show experiences for men, women and children. At the same time, I was asked by Cape Rock to build up the three movies preceding the pre-show. It was a singular project because of the size of the final screen, where everything moves faster and the wide viewing angle, together with the surrounding audio, makes you feel inside the movie.
This one is the pre-show for all kinds of action movies within different genres. The usual target for that kind of movies is a young male who likes the visual entertainment and enjoy the visual effects and the frenetic rhythm from Hollywood movies. From that starting point we designed this piece trying to emphasize the aggressive facet placing the action in the middle of the outer space to convert the star into a organic alien object that finally explodes to get the Kinepolis star born.
