Discussion #1:

Junior X Senior Executive readiness.

While the junior exec is discovering a whole new world of experiences and boosting self-awarenes (*), the senior one has already seen it, tried it and lived through it all.

This hands-on experience cannot be changed, erased or forgotten.

It can make a lot of difference as compared to juniors’ jumping into risky “trial-and-error” versus seniors’ ability to most likely achieve a higher percentage of more accurate decision-making and problem-solving, mingling expertise and intuition, mastered throughout the years with a proper balance between positive drive and stress management (**).

So, not many reasons for generational conflicts or hard
feelings!

Most juniors are eager to learn fast and apply acquired knowledge quickly for a variety of reasons, ranging from excitement and stamina (which is good) to “Type A” (*) competitiveness and playing passive-aggressive corporate politics (which is bad).

Most seniors have gone through all of that and already paid the price for their naïveté and “Type A” cravings.

However, together they can be unbeatable.

Seniors can share their lessons learned and help juniors reduce their learning curve and error rate significantly; juniors can bring fresh ideas and question outdated methods and processes by proposing innovative work (**) and discarding excessive baggage and bureaucracy, thus speeding up operations (***) and delivering excellence (****), while
alternating front-line and back-up roles.

Most clients will definitely appreciate this combo!
