The Art of Koyal story

The Art of Koyal story

Yesterday, as I delved into my old backup files, I unearthed a treasure trove of captivating slides from my initial stint at 'Sphinx Creative Communication' as a children's book illustrator. One particular gem stood out – the "Koyal (Kuku) Story," a narrative featuring two little Kukus, penned by our copywriter, Madam Swati Phadanis. This story, with its dramatic flair, multiple characters, and compelling narrative, offered a truly cinematic experience,
pushing the boundaries of my creative abilities.

Back in 2013-2015, when I was still navigating the realm of children's books and had yet to acquaint myself with digital art, this project was a mesmerising initiation.
I swiftly embraced the digital medium, elevating my creative prowess to new heights. However, the journey was not without its challenges.I vividly recall the iterative process of bringing "Koyal (Kuku) Story" to life. The narrative underwent several changes orchestrated by the copy department, necessitating the painstaking task of reimagining entire scenes to align with the evolving storyline. This particular book was a substantial undertaking, boasting a formidable 79 full illustrations. The chosen art style, though demanding, was a deliberate choice – a realistic approach that, despite its time-consuming nature, added depth and richness to the visuals. The entire endeavour spanned approximately six months, a period during which I juggled multiple projects with precision and dedication.

Reflecting on my time at Sphinx Creative Communication, I recognise it as a crucible of learning. The challenges posed by this project honed my skills in storyboarding, understanding camera angles, and mastering the art of composition.
These lessons, learned during the arduous process of crafting the "Koyal (Kuku) Story,"
continue to be invaluable assets in my artistic repertoire.
I take pride in sharing these illustrations with you, a testament to
the dedication and passion invested in each stroke.

Your appreciation and constructive feedback hold immense value for me.
I invite you to join me on this artistic journey and stay tuned for more updates.
Thank you for being a part of my creative exploration!
