SEMESTER 5: UMBROSA
In the design development course we assigned the company Umbrosa, it creates and produces Unique Shade Designs.
We focused specifically on the case of the sunshade base. The problem was that this original shell did not fit in the long narrow box of the umbrella, so it had to be shipped separately in a large box with extra shipping costs. Due to our sustainable design, it fits perfectly in: A powder-coated aluminum frame over which the same fabric of the umbrella is stretched. This creates a coherent look between the base and the umbrella itself.
The 13 parts are perfect to reorder if one is broken: the snap connections allow for quick (dis)assembly.
Our redesign of the case provides many possibilities in style: colors can be chosen and personalized by the customer. You can mix and match between different colors of fabric and frame.
