The Stylus Method draw their inspiration from the 60's, psychedelia and The Beetles, so these were my starting points for this music video. Additionally, this was a quick turn around low budget animation, meaning I had to be resourceful and efficient. Collage seemed like the perfect fit and is also a medium I really love. I incorporated coloured shapes and a few had drawn elements to break up the style, adding lots of texture and pattern and always keeping things moving.
The lyrics of the song are really fun and evocative - the story is that of a detective's wife who is having an affair. So drawing imagery from them was a great source for the visuals.
Animated in After Effects, all photo editing done in Photoshop.
