Jordan I
I shot these pictures during my first visit to Jordan in 2022. While I really like the first two, I didn't get many images due to rainy and cold weather, as well as not being able to stay long due to school. I liked Wadi Rum a lot though, which is why I went back this january. I was able to see a lot more of the desert, and scout locations for future workshops. While it is much easier to naviguate through the desert using 4x4s, these two trips also made me want to hike through parts of it with my tent, just like in the Alps.

Deep into the desert
I really liked the patterns in this unspoilt dune. It was difficult to naviguate around it to find a good composition without stepping in the way. While the mountain in the back is what impressed me the most, I feel like sand is still the main subject of this shot.
The seven pillars of wisdom
Shot a few minutes before sunrise in Wadi Rum. It was very windy, and the air was hazy from the all the sand flying around. Can you see the camels ? They're heading towards one of the desert's most famous mountains, named after T. E. Lawrence's book.
Amber dune
Strong light over one of the largest open spaces in Wadi Rum. The color of the sand varies depending on where you are in the desert and the light. It can sometimes be a deep red, a vibrant orange like here or a muted cream color. The landscape varies greatly from one small valley to the next.
Last light on Wadi Rum's cliffs
We climbed up a big cliff for that sunset, hoping to see over many layers of rock - but we weren't high enough. It was extremely windy, and we had a lot of sand in our eyes, but it is very easy to climb on Wadi Rum's rocks.
Al-Khazneh
A picture of Petra's most iconic view. I got a much better one (albeit shot from the same place) this january. The site was nearly completely empty during my first visit thanks to covid, making the experience that much better.
Ad-Deir
Petra's most iconic hike takes you to this unique landmark. You can also see the Jordan rift valley in front of it (on the left of this picture), as the Monastery is built at the edge of the mountains where Petra was founded. The textures and color patterns in the rock were amazing along the hike.
