Task // In this project we were asked by IPV delft to design a new inlet for underground waste containers. Our task was to create a new inlet which fits well in modern, densely populated, residential areas.

Solution // By not only focussing on the use of the product, but also focussing on the appearance of the product. We were able to created an inlet with a modern and fresh design. A container inlet which positively contributes to the modern street scene. This container is allowed to be seen on the streets of the modern city. 

Design // We’ve put a lot of effort in making the design of the inlet. By going back the basics of the inlet, a shaft from street level to the container below. We’ve made a versatile design suitable for different surroundings. This back to basics design is entirely made from sheet metal and can be easily produced by press braking the shapes and welding them together. The inlet is connected to a frame, which is bolted on the container below the ground. This frame is used to lift the container.
