Retrospective Book - Vidhi at 10

Vidhi at 10

In the last decade, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy has established itself as an independent think-tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good.

In each story outlined in this bilingual book, the team has tried to question conventional attitudes and approach each challenge in a different way. The layout and graphic elements of this legal retrospective carry forward this intent by conceptualizing everything around the idea of ‘Raising the Bar’. Used in many ways - as a highlighter, a means of measurement, set in dynamic motion as a section breaker, highlighting a quote or as a stylized mark - the bar is continuously being raised.

With crisp page layouts and image treatment to ‘lift’ the low-resolution photographs, we used bold colour and typography through diagrams, interviews and breaker pages to stitch everything together. The selected size made it easy to read without being too heavy to hold. After every section the reader was invited to physically change the way they read the book, through a rotated layout to capture the many testimonials and quotes about Vidhi from national and international partners. At the end, several dozen pages of articles with QR codes were generated to create online links to all the ways Vidhi has helped reshape laws in India. The fabric cover has the firm’s brand pattern and a cutout for the ‘highlight’ – the name of the book.
