I worked with sculptor, Roman de Salvo, to design and fabricate the Apex Chariots for the Animal Art exhibition at the San Diego New Children's Museum. The six vehicles featured animals that have gone extinct due to direct human intervention. Each vehicle is operated by the rider by moving the "reins" up and down, thereby driving the front wheel. Every component is hand made and unique. Animals featured and the years they went extinct: Tecopa Pupfish; 1981 Thylacine (Tasmanian Wolf); 1936 Golden Toad; 1989 Steller's Sea Cow; 1768 Passenger Pigeon; 1914 Pyrenean Ibex; 2000 (cloned and went extinct again in 2009) Read Less
