The House I live in

The graphic composition of the townscape in triptych “The House I live in”, was made in the spirit of “Productivity Art”, the main idea of constructivism.
The geometric clarity in form was attained “by machine” laser-cut steel sheets and monotyping. The schematized, but recognizable image of house №14 on Merzlyakovsky lane, was entirely based on the contrast of letter typefaces and the elementary geometrized objects.
The idea of "floating elements in space", which was picked up by artist and architect El Lissitzky in the early 20th century, is expressed by cut-out figures to enhance the impression of "floating in space planes".
