Squamata – Flexible Structures
Diploma Work

My accessory collection was inspired by Squamatas.
The created flexible surfaces are reflections of reptiles’ skin colors, facture and forms.
A plastic, flexible surface is created by system of open worked surface and elastic strings that’s why cutting isn’t necessary. Curves are made by radial movement of surface and by stretching of strings.
Closed and tight forms can be created without any traditional closing due to the surface’s flexibility.
Due to the structure of the elastic materials’ combination the form shaping works in 2D and in 3D as well.
The black surface is broken by strings and other elements in different colors. Elements in different forms imitates squamas and this effect works playfully in the ordered structure.
