Last year on January 12, 2023, I was having lunch in my office when my colleague Maitrey Ma'am suggested me to go  Ahmedabad to capture the kite festival. She even booked my train ticket, and without hesitation, I embarked on my first solo trip to document the festival.

Upon reaching Surat, the commercial aspect of the festival didn't appeal to me. Wanting to capture more authentic moments & Something Raw from the gully. I made a friend at the kite festival who happens to be a photographer from Mumbai. Interestingly, he had also come to cover the same festival and together we decided to explore the old City market where kites were being sold. 

The experience turned out to be much more rewarding, capturing genuine moments and making the trip memorable.
