Open Mouth Brand Identity

The Open Mouth project represented a transformative venture in branding, tailored for a trendy Manchester student burger and cocktail bar. The aim was to develop a brand identity that resonated with a youthful, dynamic audience, blending the lively spirit of a bustling eatery with the engaging charm of a modern bar.

The challenge lay in crafting a visual language that would not only captivate but also establish a unique presence in a competitive market. This branding initiative involved creating a vibrant and playful identity that would become synonymous with the fun and energetic atmosphere of Open Mouth.

In my role as the Creative Lead, I spearheaded the design of a distinctive and appealing brand identity, from conceptualising the logo to selecting a lively colour palette and creating engaging illustrations, all designed to echo the lively spirit of Open Mouth and its target demographic.
Open Mouth needed a brand identity that resonated with its primary audience — young, energetic students in Manchester. The challenge was to create a brand that stood out in the competitive food and beverage sector, one that was not just appealing but also memorable. The brand needed to encapsulate the essence of a modern burger and cocktail bar while maintaining a playful and engaging vibe.

The design process began with developing a distinctive logo that captured Open Mouth's unique character. Attention was paid to choosing a colour palette that was vibrant yet harmonious, aligning with the energy of the brand. Typography choices were made to ensure readability and brand consistency across various platforms. Finally, custom illustrations were created, adding a layer of storytelling and visual intrigue that would appeal to the youthful audience and enhance the overall brand narrative.

The outcome is a cohesive and dynamic brand identity for Open Mouth. The new branding effectively communicates the bar's playful and energetic vibe, successfully appealing to its target demographic. The combination of a striking logo, a well-thought-out colour scheme, consistent typography, and engaging illustrations resulted in a brand identity that is not only visually appealing but also distinct in the competitive landscape of Manchester's food and beverage scene.
