Book covers I did for our RIZAL course project. These book covers are based on Rizal's masterpieces, 'Noli Me Tangere' and 'El Filibusterismo'.
Noli Me Tangere
Key Colors

Orange stands for the desire for justice and the zeal for change. the rebellious nature of the protagonists who aim to overthrow the repressive powers the book portrays.

Yellow represents the protagonists' quest for enlightenment as they make their way through a corrupt and unfair society. for yellow, which is connected to hope, enlightenment, and optimism.

Burgundy might stand for the intense feelings and affection that character’s share, especially when it comes to the romantic relationships that are so important to the plot of the book. It might also stand for the sacrifices and bloodshed shed in the fight for justice and freedom.

The primary hues and design aspects of "Noli Me Tangere" might be seen as a vivid and intense fight for justice (yellow and orange), strong emotional ties, and sacrifices (burgundy).

Key Elements
Maria Clara is a representation of innocence, purity, and the idealized feminine form. The expectations that society had of women at the time are reflected in her character. Maria Clara's inclusion in the symbology may represent the fight against conventional wisdom and the pursuit of personal autonomy. The Sampaguita, the national flower of the Philippines, is renowned for its simplicity and purity. It is frequently used as a representation of resiliency and national identity. Sampaguita in "Noli Me Tangere" can stand for the protagonists' straightforward yearning for justice and freedom as well as their sincerity.
El Filibusterismo
The primary hues and design elements of "El Filibusterismo"'s cover speak to the intricacies of societal issues that the characters in the book struggle with, as well as the complexity of those struggles, the desire for change, the possibility of violence, and the sacrifices made. In "El Filibusterismo," it may stand in for the topic of resistance against tyranny, the fight for justice, and the oppressive forces at work.
