The Biesdorf Palace and Park Ensemble with its late Neo-classical building designed. by Heino Schmieden (1835-1913) in a park of four hectares was commissioned by Baron Hans-Herrmann von Rüxleben and created in 1867/68 Werner von Siemens purchased the ensemble in 1887 and had the palace renovated. The terraces on the south and east sides were extended and the imposing flight of outside stairs added.In 1889 Wilhelm von Siemens 1855-1919 took over the estate from his father and commissioned Royal Garden Director Albert Brodersen 1857-1930 with redesigned the park which in the meantime had been extended to the north as far as the railway line and now covered fourteen hectares.
