Mohammad Shami, honored with the Arjuna Award

Shami has been in the headlines for the past months, for his amazing balling skills in the world cup league. The Indian pace posted on his official instagram account, how grateful he is to his family, friends and all his fans for being there for him in his good and bad. 

Shami with his absolute amazing skills lit up the world cup ground. He ended up being the leading wicket taker in the world cup league.


He has taken a total of 24 wickets for his team, and led the team India to world cup finals. Shami has taken 55 wickets in the 18 innings he played for the world cup overall, with the strike rate of 13.52, and figures like 7/57. He is also the fifth highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with four five-wicket hauls.

Shami outshined Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath, who were the prime wicket taker for the world cup tournaments with his total of 55 wickets.

Mohammed Shami on January 09, 2024 received the honorable Arjuna Award, and January 10, he took it to X, formerly Twitter, and wrote “ Thank you so much for this award. It means so much to me and I am truly grateful, the award inspires me to continue to pursue my passion with even greater enthusiasm. I am honored to have received this award. I take great pride in having one of the best childhoods since the best parents raised me in the entire universe.I want to thank all my family members and fans and friends for all the sacrifices, support, love ,care. Keep supporting & loving me.”

This shows how grateful he is to all his fans and he respects the love fans have been showering on him, he truly deserves all of it. It is said what goes around, comes around. In the past months Shami has given us immense joy, so it's only fair he is receiving it back.
