OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

At the second year of my studies in Universtiy, I have been asked by an Occupational Therapist to create her visual identity (logo and business card). After the conversation I had with her, she explained to me the exact definition of occupational therapy and at the end I asked from her to give me some examples of a daily session. She described to me a few of the games - like puzzle,jenga,bloque logicos etc. - that she usually plays with her clients.

Alongside with the conversation I had with her, she made me realise that part of the positive results you wish to have from the therapy, is not entirely based on the therapist, but also on the client itself and their family.

As a result, I decided to design a logo which represents these 3 aspects (client/family/therapist) and intensify this connection and the positive results that comes with it; inspired by the puzzle game, I wished to show that  if you lose one piece of the puzzle, the picture is incomplete.

Occupational Therapy is the use of various treatments to help people with physical, mental or development issues so as to improve, stabilize or even recover their daily activities and work skills. Occupational Therapist

After my graduation from University, I found some time to organize my portfolio. Once, I have started working on that, I came across the bussiness card I created for the Ocupational Therapist at second year of University. Thus, I decided to redesign the business card and complete the visual identity. The specific Occupational Therapist is still working under the same roof as other experts of the same field (each one of them have their own clients). Based on that, I name this Group as; 'OT ACT/Occupational Therapists Act'.

The fact that she is working under the OT ACT group, led me to the decision to represent not only her but also the whole group through the visual identity. So as to achieve that, I had to find a way to combine those two elements together. Therefore, I have changed the logo colour into calm and clean tones, in order to suit the OT ACT. In addition to that, the branding supports the OT ACT organization visually. The client can notice the name of 'OT ACT/Occupational Therapists Act'.

*The redesign of the specific project is just for my own purpose! The Therapist has nothing to do with that. I just felt the need to work further on the visual identity so as to improve it.
