Illustrations for Italo Calvino

Two illustrations made for "Italian excellence: Italo Calvino" contest, organized by Bologna Children's Bookfair.

”Fiabe italiane”(Italian fairy tales) is the book I’ve chosen, in particular I decided to illustrate “Quaquà! Attaccati là!”. The story tells about a young man that receive a magic goose as a gift for his kindness. Every time the word “Quaquà” is pronounced, something or someone stick on the goose. So happen for the innkeeper’s daugthers, the pots’ saleman and even the priest. They arrive at the castle of a king, whose daughter never laugh. The scene make the princess laugh so hard, that she marry the young man immediately.
