TEK1313 Coffe maker concept - NTNU Gjøvik

Coffee maker
TEK-1313, first year student project at NTNU Gjøvik
Inspiration and style board that was created in the first stage of this student project. Here I show what I want to call a good design in coffee makers, and what similar product I want to develop. I want a modern and simple look. It has to be functional and easy to use. For me its important that it is realistic and actually possible to get into production.
Analyse of an existing coffee maker, with understanding of all its functional parts and mechanisms.
Here is some of my first initial drawings of possible concepts. I took big inspiration from the style board, but of course with a personal twist. My wanted color theme is as shown, gold and different shades of grey.
More specified drawings that focus on showing the chosen concept. The drawing shows and exploded view of all the components as well as a work drawing from all sides. The drawings focuses on simplicity and functionality.
Focused drawings of the specific mechanism and functionality. Simplified for the ease of understanding the ide. For a real production of the mechanism a more detailed drawing would be given.
Different metodes used for developing the product. A detailed analysis of the user and scenario was analyzed.
Images from the work progress of creating a prototype of the coffee maker concept. Most is created in wood, and some parts are 3d-printed PLA plastic.
Our finished prototype showing the size, colors and functions. The controls are used with a large and visible touch screen.
Underway process of rendering the 3d-modell that was created in SolidWorks, CAD.
