Labello 'let your design shine'
Labello hosted a packaging design competition. They were looking for fresh creatives to celebrate Africa's uniqueness and diversity. Labello wanted creatives to push their skills by creating a fun, bold, happy and positive design.
For the design I decided to create vibrant illustrations of women to celebrate the diversity. These illustrations included a variety of colours to embody the unique aspects that each person has and to make them feel relatable. The first illustration is a combination of colder and warmer colours that create a tranquil effect and projects feelings of calmness.
The packaging design allowed space for the lip ice or lip balm to be presented next to the illustration.
The second illustration embodies a range of warmer colours to create the vibrant bold aesthetic Labello was looking for. The facial expressions of both woman remained calm and by closing the eyes, the illustrations become more relatable. The closing of the eyes also implies that the individual content, which indirectly comments on the product.
