The Spirit of Bangladesh

Short Film Title: "The Spirit of Bangladesh"

In the deafening year of 2021, I was in Bangladesh, grappling with uncertainty. As a passionate enthusiast of the arts and cinema, I faced the challenge of lacking experience and a portfolio to secure admission to foreign universities. The frustration was overwhelming. Armed with my father's Canon D6 DSLR, I embarked on a journey to one of Bangladesh's most iconic locales—Dhaka University. A beginner at the time, I fumbled with the camera, unsure of how to capture the essence before me. The technical complexity of shooting and editing were foreign concepts, with Premier Pro and After Effects seeming like distant tools.

Despite the apparent uselessness of the initial footage, I persevered over the next three years, immersing myself in the realms of cinematography. Finally, the fragments of my early endeavors found purpose in the creation of "The Spirit of Bangladesh." This cinematic piece offers a glimpse into the intricacies of Dhaka, with a particular focus on its vibrant street food scene—an expressive portrayal of beauty thriving amidst privation.

The film serves as an experimental exploration of color grading within Adobe Premier Pro, adding an artistic dimension to the visual narrative. "The Spirit of Bangladesh" encapsulates the evolution of my skills and the transformative journey from amateur to artist, echoing the resilience found in the heart of Dhaka's streets.
