Peer Gynt is the main character in the famous five-act play by Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen. As the story tells, Peer Gynt was a true dreamer, poet and braggart. This series contains photos which were all taken in the area of Peer Gynt's adventures. This area was the home of this special character, hence the title of this series. It's also this landscape that inspired classical music composer Edvard Grieg to write his famous Peer Gynt-suites, which made him the most important Norwegian composer.

 

I would like to dedicate this series to the victims of the violent and cruel terrorist act on Norway's capital city Oslo and the island Utøya, that shook the world on the 22nd of July, 2011.
