Mega Wall Posters // Genovasi

Genovasi Design Thinking School
Media campaign in universities
Genovasi is a design thinking school partner of the HPI School in Germany and a sister institute of the d.school at Stanford University in the United States. Design thinking is a relatively modern concept; a methodology in which to solve problems creatively and innovatively.

Genovasi approached me to create a campaign aimed at university students, to encourage them to enrol in a design thinking course. The campaign would run in 12 university campuses around the Klang Valley, and consist of a series of four posters in total, spread throughout the year. In addition to that, I was asked to come up with a second series to advertise and promote the RSA (Royal School of Art in London) Design School contest.

These posters had to convey, in a single image, what the course is about and how it would help them, as well as engage them to participate in the poster, instead of just walk by and forget about it. The result is a series of four posters with similar messages – emphasising that everyone is different, but could all benefit from design thinking.

The RSA contest poster series was also a challenge, as RSA is not a particularly known school in Malaysia. We decided that instead of trying to explain who the school is and what they do, we would focus on grabbing the viewers’ attention by showing them in one sentence what the contest involves and what they would win.
