Sometimes you come across a case study that you just HAVE to turn into a campaign. Hearing the phrase “Flying Toilets” at a briefing (in case you’re wondering, they refer to when plastic bags are used as toilets in areas of non-existent sanitation – then thrown out of the window) we constructed a direct mail campaign to recruit longterm regular donors. And to really make the most of the slightly surreal nature of the ‘flying toilets’ idea, we asked writer, humourist and ex-Python Terry Jones if he’d be the signatory on the letter. He said yes – and the pack hit its target (and then some.)
