Blending urban photography & motion design to highlight the power of ceramics
✨ Why be basic when you can be extra? ✨
I like static images, but I believe motion makes everything more fun! So, when the company Quartarella1949 asked me to help with their 2024 promotional calendar, I decided to go beyond photos and make those beautiful tiles come alive.
Their ceramics have amazing graphics, so I decided they were going to be the main stars in the shooting. How? By placing them in unexpected places where they really got to shine: urban spots, inhospitable corners, unusual contexts became our playground.

Both indoors and outdoors, I took the photos aiming to find the right contrasts with one goal in mind: to show that no matter the setting, the right ceramic can give a magical boost and change everything . Construction sites, abandoned bicycles, libraries, dishwashers and concrete — they all got a ceramic makeover with the power of geometric tiles.
The 12 results were also exhibited in the exhibition AnimaCeramica on December 16, 2023, in Altamura (BA), Italy, where about 300 people attended 👀 AnimaCeramica has a dual meaning: in Italian, it signifies both animation, movement, and also 'anima' as in soul.
