Process & Methodology.
We first conducted research on how past products could seamlessly integrate into our daily lives.
과거의 제품이 어떻게 우리 일상에 녹아들 수 있을지, 과거에 사용하던 제품에 대해 먼저 조사를 했습니다.
Past Actions
Among them, we focused on artifacts related to actions, ultimately selecting oil lamps, wells, and grinding stones with handles.
그 중 저희는 행위에 포커스를 잡고 호롱불, 우물, 멧돌과 솟대를 고르게 되었습니다.
We also contemplated how to reinterpret these artifacts into products that fit into our surroundings.

DIDIM_Stand Light
#1 is designed with inspiration from both the kerosene lamps used by our ancestors inside their homes and the portable lanterns carried outdoors.
#1 조명은 과거에 선조들이 집안에서 사용하던 호롱불과, 외출시에 들고 다니는 초롱불을 모티브로 조명을 디자인 하게되었습니다.
By opening the door on the front of the light, you reveal the lantern's inner candle.
조명의 전면에 있는 문을 열면, 안에 호롱불의 등이 들어있습니다.
The overall silhouette is designed to resemble a person holding a lantern.
전체적인 실루엣은 초롱불을 들고있는 사람의 모습을 고안하여 만들었습니다.
Removing the candle transforms it into a mood light with adjustable brightness, providing the flexibility to carry it to different locations.
이 등을 빼면 무드등으로 빛의 세기가 조절이 되고, 원하는 곳으로 들고 이동 할 수 있습니다.
Drawing inspiration from the act of lighting a match and extinguishing it with a breath, we implemented a gesture-based control system for the light.
You can turn on the light with a finger gesture and turn it off by blowing on it, mimicking the action of lighting and extinguishing a match.

또한 성냥으로 불을 켜고, 입으로 후 불어서 끄는 행위를 모티브로 삼아, 손가락 제스처로 조명을 켜고, 후 부는 방식으로 조명을 끌 수 있습니다.

DIDIM_Alarm Clock
The well alarm clock is designed to resemble the rising sun, inspired by the image of a bucket emerging from the well when drawing water.
This alarm clock serves as a morning reminder, signaling the start of the day.

우물 알람시계는 우물에서 물을 뜰 때 올라오는 바구니가 마치 해가 뜨는 모습과 유사 해 보여, 아침을 알려주는 알람시계로 고안하게 되었습니다.
Instead of a traditional basket, we replaced it with a bell, symbolizing the start of the day by ringing the bell when the alarm clock goes off.
바구니 대신 종으로 대체 하여서 우리는 알람시계가 울릴 때, 이 종을 치는 것으로 하루를 시작한다는 의미를 담고 있습니다.
Unlike conventional alarm clocks, we incorporated the concept of the well's pulley system.

기존의 알람시계들과 달리, 우물의 도르레 부분을 가지고 왔습니다. 이 도르레를 돌리는 행위로 시간을 맞출 수 있습니다.

The unfolded tray features distinct compartments.
The first compartment is designed for larger items such as a phone, the second section can accommodate pencils or pens,
and the final compartment is suitable for smaller items like AirPods.

펼쳐진 트레이는 각각 다른 형태를 띄고 있습니다. 첫번째 트레이에는 스마트폰과 같은 큰 물건을, 두번째 칸에는 연필이나 펜을 둘 수 있고, 마지막 트레이에는 에어팟과 같은 작은 물건을 둘 수 있습니다.
The inspiration for the grinding stone tray originated from the act of turning the handle on a grinding stone and the transformative nature of the raw material.
맷돌 트레이는 맷돌의 특성인 손잡이를 돌리는 행위와, 원 재료의 형태를 바꾼다는 것을 모티브로 시작하게 되었습니다.
When you rotate the handle of this tray, the initially fan-shaped compartments gradually unfold,
eventually transforming into a circular shape, reminiscent of the original form of a grinding stone.

이 트레이의 손잡이를 돌리면, 원래의 모습인 부채꼴로 모여있던 트레이들이 점점 펼쳐지면서 결국 원의 형태로 바뀌게 됩니다.

맷돌트레이의 손잡이는 솟대의 형상을 가지고 있습니다. 솟대는 선조들의 좋은 일들이 생기길 바란다는 바람이 담겨있고,
이런 솟대는 선조들의 수호신 역할을 했습니다.

DIDIM incorporated traditional patterns into its package design, using the logo as well.
Through this, DIDIM aimed to convey a traditional atmosphere reminiscent of patterns used in the past
