Overview
British composer, Brian Eno produced and released his sixth studio album, “Ambient 1: Music for Airports” in March 1978. The conceptual album was intended to be looped as an installation piece for Airports intending to introduce Ambient music and its practices to Airport atmospheres. I was expected to redesign the album cover inspired by Art Deco motifs and present packaging for a 12" vinyl.

Process
This project required immense research work on the historic Art Deco movement, signifying a new age of opulence and ornamental maximalism. The challenges presented to me were communicating the elements of Art Deco while honoring the simplistic nature of the album's musical direction. Ultimately, I conceptualized the idea of an airport map that is visually abstract yet acts as a functional map. The final packaging is meant to include gold foil lining.
