Thrilled to share my most recent exhibit of work where I showcased 10 hand shaped surfboards along side 10 acrylic paintings. Each board tells a tale of surf culture’s fusion with Lake Superior’s raw beauty. The paintings on these boards transcend mere waves, capturing the essence of a unique marriage between nature’s force and the finesse of fine art. A visual symphony that echoes the spirit of the North, surfing on the edge of both water and canvas.
I wanted to create a series of surfboards that blew the surf world away. Large scale graphics that could be displayed as fine art.
Where I’m from surfing on the Great Lake is seen as a myth, not an actual act taken on by many. These boards are meant to share the culture happening and excite people to the possibilities that Lake Superior offers.
