Skeleton Wedding Landing Page Design

This was created for a Design Challenge. Our prompt was to create a wedding website and allowed for us to use our creativity. I decided to focus on the home page.

Wedding websites are unique in the fact that their homepages are also very much a landing page. This page needed to have the primary information: who, what, where, and when. I decided to lay out the information on the page in the same order as they happen on the day of the wedding and then placed the RSVP form at the bottom of the page, allowing visitors to say yes or no immediately after finding out the details. The countdown was added for fun, but also so visitors will know how many days until the wedding in the event that they need to make travel arrangements or order a gift.

The navigation bar is at the top and easy to locate. If I were to continue building this site, I would display information about the bride and groom and information the guests might need in order to attend the big day. There is also an RSVP button to make it easy to for invitees to respond regardless of where they are on the website.

I struggled with the color pallette, but I think these colors worked out perfect. I wanted to keep the feminine and elegant look of the wedding, without it looking like a Halloween wedding. This particular design taught me a lot about white space and allowing it to happen. If I were to do this design over again, I would make use of gradients more to add more definition to the page and change the font/layout of the hero section.
I just started my first semester of college studying design, but I have been learning UI/UX for a few months now. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
