Held in 2023, Macau Design Week is a feast celebrating the design force in Macao, organised by the Macao Designers Association. With this year marking the 9th edition, a series of activities are conducted aiming to build a bridge between design and the public. "Keywords of the City" is chosen as the theme, hoping to make "Design" a keyword for Macao, allowing the audience to rediscover this charming city from different design perspectives.
To convey the theme ‘City Keywords’, we created a visual device that turns each word of the event title into a keyword, in the form of hashtag, prompt, or simply an editing text. The visual identity is reinforced with strong colour usage that helps to position the event as a lively one, with extensive visual adaption including event booklet, souvenirs, online promotional materials, on-site installation, etc.

We construct Macao as a city of design.
On spatial level, the visual identity is fortified via a seating instllation, which also acts as a welcoming gesture to the passers-by, who are usually travelers looking for seating place to rest. We wish to convey the message that design welcomes everyone, and should be concievable by any individual.
