Koenigsegg Lumera
Personal project focused on expressing performance through proportions, basic aerodynamic shapes, and features within a sports car package.
The Lumera project's name was derived from "lumen," a unit of measurement for luminous flux, quantifying the perceived power of light.
Light represents efficiency in many contexts. For the Lumera project, it implies that the vehicle is powerful yet efficient in its use of energy, suggesting advanced engineering and technology aimed at maximizing performance without excessive energy consumption.
Light is also associated with clarity and precision, symbolizing precision engineering, design execution, and a focus on the driver experience.

*Just as a quick and friendly reminder, this is a non official mini project I did exclusively to practice and learn new skills, and have some fun during it's progress. There is no official product strategy and design related to Koenigsegg at all.

Some time ago, I incorporated Blender modeling into my creative process. Most of the time, I found myself learning even more about the brand I was exploring. This happened again with this project.

I noticed an advantage for aerodynamic in exploring a staggered seat layout, as it allowed me to reduce the frontal area of the car by narrowing the cockpit. Consequently, the overall proportions became significantly more extreme, which is something all car designers appreciate.

The final proposal appears to promise an exhilarating driving experience akin to that of a race car, available to ordinary street or track day drivers. The dimensions and wheelbase were slightly shorter than those from Koenigsegg CC850.

Catching up with Koenigsegg design language during the development was quite challenging, once simplicity became one of the basic statements for the brand. Therefore proportions and centerline shouldn't be messed up by any millimeter whatsoever. Also playing with fancy shapes and graphics for the sake of being "fresh" wasn't the main purpose of this exercise.

How this could look like with a track day customization package?

Thank you!
