Design Concept
As the opening gift of the annual box, I designed two other gifts as previews for the Aēsop Tmall Live Day.
Continuing to echo the theme of "sound resonance", the 2023 box is a movement and a stand-alone piece.

Gift丨Variations
"A variation is a piece of music in which the theme and its series of variations are repeated and composed according to a unified artistic conception."
Extending the openwork design technique with the hazy texture of paper, it dissolves the boundaries of the object's own structure, and borrows sound illustrations from visual design, refreshing it into a tactile, everyday household item.
The fun and sense of accomplishment of doing the assembly yourself, and imagining the performance of using different, but each in its own wonderful way, is one of the elements of interaction.
We hope to encourage everyone to touch the beauty, feel the truth, enjoy the variations of time, and find a comfortable rhythm of self in a different and interesting way.

Retaining the details of the overlapping semicircles of the annual gift box and the way the paper is flicked to capture the rustling of the leaves as the wind travels through them.
If you add a drop or two of your favorite scent, the enjoyment that was originally reserved for sight and sound sweeps into every breath.
From time to time the flow of aroma, light and shadow staggered, stacked in a small world, feel the craft world of time and art superimposed charm, not slow and not hurry, just right. Smell the sound and smell, bring yourself a sense of healing like a hug.
