Keep Britain Tidy! (Campaign Stamps)

WHAT IS 'KEEP BRITAIN TIDY'?
Keep Britain Tidy is a UK based campaign designed to help reduce the amount of emissions and pollution in the world. Over the last few years they have created so many different campaigns aimed to solve some of the UK's biggest issues.

WHAT DID I DO? AND WHY?
I decided to create awareness by designing 6 stamps, highlighting some of these campaigns that were launched while also promoting the idea of what we can do to help reduce some of the bad emissions in the world. Although these campaigns were years ago, these are still activities that we can continue to do today to help save our planet.

OUTCOMES
My outcomes will be 6 stamps depicting some of 'Keep Britain Tidy's' campaigns, as well as showcasing what we can do to help reduce these issues before they become much worse.
'Waterside Care' was launched in 2011, aimed to remove some of the recycling waste that had gotten into our water/oceans over the years. One of the main types of waste pollution found was the plastic bottle. This stamp design depicts someone taking a bottle out of the water, allowing our sea-life (Such as crabs) to be in a cleaner environment.
'Clean for the Olympics' was launched in 2012, aimed to encourage people to clean their neighbourhoods such as their streets. This was due to the fact that Olympic athletes would be running through neighbourhoods carrying the Olympic Torch promoting the 2012 Olympic Games in London. And as a sign of respect and admiration it was advised people do this before hand.

Depicted in this stamp is an Olympic runner (An ant) carrying the torch through a street, while someone is taking a can out of the grass creating a cleaner environment for our athlete to run through the streets.
'Love My Beach' was launched in 2013, aimed to encourage all beach goers to tidy up our beaches. One of the most polluted places in the UK is our coastline, this campaign was to ensure our beaches could be cleaned before the summer kicked off.

Depicted in this stamp is a sand castle having rubbish (Such as a can) being taken out of it, encouraging people who see rubbish to take it out of the beach.
'Wombling Free Bags' were launched in 2014. Plastic bags have had a massive impact with pollution such as falling into our oceans, therefore 'Keep Britain Tidy' decided to create recyclable bags. This would then be sold in stores to encourage people to use one bag for multiple shops, compared to buying a plastic bag which could effect our Planet. They partnered with the family friendly show known as 'The Wombles' (Who are known for cleaning up rubbish) to help promote and sell these bags in stores.

Depicted in this stamp is a Womble bag being held by someone, suggesting we can have a cleaner world without plastic bags.
'School Clean Up' was launched in 2015 to encourage schools to help clean up their local areas, as a way of helping out their local community and getting everyone involved. This also allowed children to learn about the environment and how we can stop causing pollution within the world/UK.

Depicted in this stamp is a rabbit collecting rubbish and a hand putting a plastic bottle into the bin bag, encouraging people to pick up any litter that is on the ground that is likely to cause pollution.
'Clean For The Queen' was launched in 2016 as a way for everyone to come together in the UK and clean for what would have been the Queen's 90th Birthday celebration.

Depicted in this stamp is a Corgi (A loyal dog to the queen), as well as someone taking out rubbish.
