Amita Vadlamudi, a computer systems engineer, has 35 years of experience in the industry. In addition to devoting time to her profession, Amita Vadlamudi also gives back to the community through a number of charitable organizations and by volunteering her time. According to the National Philanthropic Trust, public charities in the U.S. have reported more than $1.51 trillion in total annual revenue and a sum of $2.71 trillion in total assets. Among all American households, 88 percent regularly give to charity. In the same National Philanthropic Trust survey, results showed that more than 64 million adults volunteered approximately 15 billion hours of service.

 

This contribution of time often translates to billions of dollars’ worth of money saved, and most individuals even receive tax exemptions for their time and donations. Almost 60,000 charitable organizations are active today in the U.S., gathering volunteer efforts, funds, and support daily for a numerous of humanitarian causes.
