Recycling Factory Branding Project 'im_factory '





Project Overview

'im_factory', which we have introduced for this project, is a recycling plant that is the core of SuperBin’s circular economy, and reduces waste and carbon emissions by making PET bottles into materials that can be replaced as raw materials for new products.

Furthermore, we can create a system in which human-generated waste can be disposed of within the city instead of throwing it into the natural ecosystem. And we provide a tour program to experience the value of resource circulation and the importance of life so that im_factory can become a complex cultural space that shows a new recycling culture.

This is a branding project that aims to design the factory's unique identity and visual language to maximize these strengths and transform the perception of waste.








Brand Goal

The purpose of the project is to emphasize the unique experience provided by ‘im_factory’ that can change the negative image of the factory into a positive one, and to brand it as a special place that talks about the space itself without explaining the value of waste and the meaning of symbiosis in a verbal way. This proves that recycling plants can exist close to where we live.








Core Value

Core value of ‘im_factory’ is 'Return to Reclaim Value'. This represents the role of waste factories, which is to 'get value from what is discarded', and furthermore, it means to restore existing waste facilities and the negative perception of waste. It also shows that the existing linear economy is changing its course and shifting to a sustainable circular economy.








Brand Identity

In order to show confidence in the appearance of a new factory that has never existed before, we decided to call it 'im_factory', as if introducing ourselves as a factory. Such a name can arouse curiosity in the viewer and emphasizes its differentiation in the existing unified image of the factory. In order to intuitively show the image of ‘Recover and Reclaim Value’, which is the core value of ‘im_factory’, the logo was created using a U-shaped arrow.








Graphic Motif

Visualize the message of ‘Recover and Reclaim Value' through the direction shown by the arrows. In addition, since it can be used in various directions and shapes that arrows can express, it is a flexible graphic asset that can show consistent images in various media.
