People are constantly using illegal streams to access content, not because they are unwilling to pay, but because the content is otherwise unavailable. We’ll catch them in a moment when they might feel bad about themselves for stealing from artists they admire and invite them to do some good while still satisfying their craving for content.
SITE
In partnership with HBO, UNICEF’s Good Stream will allow people to legally stream popular shows by making a small donation to provide clean water.
On the site, people can decide how much clean water they want to “stream” per minute, from one cent to one dollar.
While the episode is loading, they will receive a 15 second message thanking them for the donation, the impact of their streaming and UNICEF’s mission to provide clean water.
We’ll start with the most illegally streamed series in the world: Game of Thrones. For the 4th season episode finale, people will be able to use the Good Stream to watch the show live at the same time as HBO users.
BANNERS
Targeted banners will be placed on sites frequented by GOT fans and also on illegal streaming sites to lead people to the Good Stream microsite.
Mashable site banner placement.
Illegal streaming site banner placement.
And the best part is that the Good Stream is a repeatable campaign as it can be used on the season finale of any high-rating show.
